Desirey Juan, a parent in south Calgary, wants her children to have the option to learn Tagalog and about Filipino culture in school, but there are no options close to home. If elected, the Alberta NDP will develop Filipino curriculum for schools that are interested. 🇵🇭🍎

After spending a night in the emergency room, I can confirm…nurses don’t get paid enough. For what they have to endure-they are not paid even close to enough.

Unreal! Danielle Smith believes that “everything that built up before that you got to stage 4 and that diagnosis, that’s completely within your control” We’re at the cancer blaming stage of the campaign now? What do kids & babies do wrong Danielle? #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Heartbreaking to be reading this from New Zealand where we live such a different life. I’m floored by the attitude of so many Canadians who can’t understand that giving up your freedom for the greater good and for just a short season is worth it!! Do it once and do it right!

Those overseas may be interested to see how Australia has responded to the UK variant. Today, a single case was detected in the community in the city of Brisbane. A 3-day lockdown has been declared for the city, while contact tracers work to find out who else might be infected.

Chief Health Officer, Dr Jeannette Young, has an important message for all Queenslanders. Read the open letter here: qld.gov.au/health/conditi…

Meanwhile in Alberta...💩

If you’re wondering what life is like in Australia... pretty much back to normal. Thanks to decisive action, lockdowns, mandatory international quarantine, and stringent contact tracing, the current number of active cases in the whole country (pop. 25 million)? 47.

Making an excellent day even better!! Thank you @JanisIrwin Merry Christmas to you and yours as well! 🎄

You know where Christmas is going to be normal this year? New Zealand. They got their act together and crushed the virus early, and they get to have Christmas. Imagine what Alberta would be like now if we had a competent government.

Have your say about Budget 2020! The government is seeking input from Albertans on how we can work together to get Alberta out of debt and back on the path to a prosperous future. Visit alberta.ca/BudgetConsulta… to share your ideas.

Take three minutes from your day to be mesmerized. What a performer.

This is a delight. Ella sings “I can’t give you anything but love”, 3 times: first in her own voice, perhaps the most beautiful voice ever; then, a teasing tribute to cutsie chee chee Rose Murphy; last to cap it all, as a croaky Louis Armstrong, her duet partner & beloved friend.

Already???

Looking at every other province in Canada...Is it just me??? Or does Alberta have absolutely the worst back to school plan with the fewest actual details and the utmost minimal of thought and intelligence in the plan for safety? Why might this be?
