+3min "unique large-scale empirical examination of 1.6 million EVs, incl a broad array of vehicle types—private, taxi, rental, official, bus, and special purpose vehicle—across 7 major Chinese cities with over 854million obs of driving & charging events. sign heterogeneity in EV..

🚗🔋 EV adoption is booming, but detailed data is scarce. We analyzed 1.6M EVs across 7 major Chinese cities with 854M+ driving & charging events. Check out our preprint: rb.gy/ra1pw7 #EV #Sustainability #DataScience @TheYuanLiao

4/4 Impact of transport accessibility: Limited mobility ranges of foreign-born individuals are linked to lower car ownership and reduced transport accessibility. Improving transport accessibility is crucial for reducing social segregation.

Sonia Yeh Reposted

3/4 Key role of mobility ranges: Homophily has a marginal effect on segregation among foreign-born individuals. Instead, differences in mobility ranges are crucial, with foreign-born individuals traveling shorter distances.

Sonia Yeh Reposted

2/4 Heterogeneous effect of mobility on segregation: Native-born experience minimal segregation during outside-home activities, while foreign-born residents remain relatively segregated.

1/4 We use counterfactual simulations to explore the impact of homophily and mobility range on segregation experiences based on a smartphone dataset of ~320,000 individuals in Sweden.

Thank you for the kind words! It was a pleasure to share my insights at the #InternationalEnergyWorkshop #IEW24 @IRENA I'm thrilled to hear that it sparked thoughtful discussions. I learned a lot from the questions too! #EnergyInnovation #SustainableFuture

Impressive Keynote by @Sonia_Yeh at the second day of the #InternationalEnergyWorkshop providing a lot of new insights and food for thought 💡

A major update on the review article: Socio-spatial segregation and human mobility: A review of empirical evidence (arxiv.org/abs/2403.06641). We added a new section of methodological reflections, among other improvements.

This review paper asks three critical questions: (a) to what extent do individual mobility patterns contribute to segregation? (b) Which factors explain the role of mobility in segregation? and (c) What's gained by incorporating extensive mobility data into segregation research?

🚀 Open Data release! 🚀 Led by @TheYuanLiao, we are thrilled to share the new Synthetic Sweden Mobility (SySMo) model, simulating transport for 10.2M agents in Sweden! Now includes all travel modes for a comprehensive analysis. Download the dataset here: zenodo.org/records/106480…
