Tragically several people have died in waterways during the searing heat over the last few days. The hot weather is set to continue with @metoffice issuing it's first hot weather warning. Open water is not the place to cool off. The Jubilee River is very deep and very cold.

Jubilee River patrols have revealed some of the buoys there have been vandalised - including the buoy placed on the bridge where Michael Scaife, 20, died of cold water shock on a hot day like today. These simple devices can keep someone in trouble in the river alive.
