Last month, UK’s Keir Starmer and France’s Emmanuel Macron also lined up with Vladimir Putin to oppose a UN research study on the human and environmental consequences of nuclear war. Even the North Korean regime abstained on that vote - could they be embarrassed by the hypocrisy?
For the second year in a row, France and Britain have joined Russia (!) and North Korea (!!) to vote NO to providing assistance to nuclear survivors and contributing to environmental remediation of nuclear test sites. All other nuclear weapons states (plus Poland) abstained.
