The world has ignored us!

The Myanmar junta's cruel repression hasn't eased, but its victims -- the people of Myanmar -- increasingly feel that "the world has ignored us." sbs.com.au/news/the-world…

This dead body of the old man, wearing UN emblem T-Shirt,is also an image/a reflection of the failure of the United Nations to effectively protect the lives of civilians. An elderly civilian who was shot dead while at home during KoneThar clash in Karenni State, wearing UN T-Shirt.

What can the world do about the military junta's relentless assault on the people of Myanmar? How about stop enabling it? I'm doing an inventory of nations who have or are supplying them weapons, those supporting an arms embargo and those choosing to do nothing. Stay tuned.

More heartbreak in Myanmar. Poet Khat Thi murdered in custody by killers he referred to when he wrote: "They shoot in the head, but they don't know the revolution is in the heart." My heart is with his family and all under siege in Myanmar. @poppymcp #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

The result of the ASEAN Summit will be found in Myanmar, not a document. Will the killing stop? Will the terrorizing of neighborhoods end? Will the thousands abducted be released? Will impunity persist? Anxious to work w ASEAN's Spec Envoy & monitor Summit's actual results.

Spoke to @DrSasa22222 earlier today. The UK welcomes the @CrphMyanmar vision for a peaceful return to democracy. We call on the #Myanmar military to end the violence and engage with the newly nominated Interim National Unity Government to restore civilian rule.

I am releasing an open letter to Min Aung Hlaing asking if he will honor his ASEAN Summit commitment to an "immediate cessation of violence," and order forces under his command to stop attacking those exercising their right to protest his coup and junta. ohchr.org/Documents/Coun…

The Burmese people are demanding a say in their country's future, yet the military regime continues its violent crackdown by repressing and killing peaceful protestors. This violence will not go unanswered.

The internet shutdown has made reporting what appears to have been a massacre by #Myanmar’s junta forces in Bago yesterday very difficult. But it’s clear dozens were killed. @aapp_burma now puts the death toll at more than 80. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

The Myanmar junta won't even talk about its coup and ruthless repression as it refuses to accept a visit from the UN special envoy on Myanmar, Christine Schraner Burgener. channelnewsasia.com/news/asia/myan…

Myanmar junta forces arrested a famous young model #PaingTakhon at his home in Yangon’s North Dagon on Apr. 8, said his sister. Denouncing the military coup, he took part in protests since February. The junta sued him under article 505a of the Penal Code. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

The failure of the UN Security Council to even consider a strong resolution on Myanmar this week was regrettable. Using it as an excuse for inaction would be unacceptable. Coordinated international action to support those under siege & hold the junta accountable cannot wait.

The world watches in horror as #Myanmar's security forces continue to kill innocent civilians bravely standing up for the restoration of democracy. 🇬🇧 has requested an urgent Security Council meeting today. We cannot stand by idly in the face of such human rights violations.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was arrested 2 months ago. Yesterday, I spoke again in the Security Council for the release of her and all those arrested since the coup. „I wish, Daw Suu, that we can soon discuss together again how to revise the constitution. Yours, Christine“
