Big thank you to our volunteers and partners for their help in creating the second of three reptile hibernacula at @Parcbrynbach today.
This autumn, please consider leaving dead plants in your garden rather than 'tidying' them up. Over the winter they will provide sheltered spots for hibernating ladybirds and lots of other creatures ๐ #wildlife #gardening #nature

Had a good fungi foray today.....some I've not come across before so will be needing to check in with the ID book...
Had to really get my eye in to find some of theses amongst the leaf litter.....
More fungi pics.....the white ones remind me of sea corals.....beautiful

This was glistening amongst the leaf litter, like a jewel.....the woodland carefully hiding its precious gems.
I had a little squeak of excitement when I found this crawling through the undergrowth of the woodland at one of our local nature reserves....cobalt crust
The volunteers have been creating reptile and amphibian hibernacula @Parcbrynbach to create safe areas for these creatures to shelter and overwinter in. Amazing job again! Thanks all ๐๐ธ๐ฆ

Site visit day today - lots of Devil's Bit Scabious at Parc Nanty Waun. This native wildflower is the food plant for the marsh fritillary caterpillar.
Out surveying several sites yesterday, a good biodiversity day.....juvenile common lizards, several butterfly sp. common shrew, vole, buzzard, small elephant hawkmoth caterpillar, eyed hawkmoth caterpillar, emerald damselflies, common darter and black darter dragonflies, toad
