Elton Sawyer on not suspending drivers as part of the race manipulation penalties issued today (crew chiefs, spotters and competition directors for Dillon, Chastain and Wallace were suspended for Phoenix while drivers/teams fined $100K and docked 50 points).
#Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo called a timeout… which is against the rules, but the timeout ended up being allowed.
While Joseph is outraged by the situation, rightfully so because of all of the people around… I think the bigger question is: why are there so many people around, and that far out on pit road, with cars still screaming down pit road at the end of the race?
That… looks MUCH WORSE than the footage that circulated yesterday, and should no doubt be a significant penalty. I don’t care how mad you are, that is NOT the way to show frustration, especially with so many people around. Disgraceful. #NASCAR
