Half-Life 2 is invaluably, enormously influential game, but I can not help but notice that it's actually the first instalment that gave us both headcrabs and crowbars

Mentioning Terrifier is misleading though, gore and body horror a very, very different horror subgenres

The most epic part being the screen acting like it's Philips Ambilight

Great design is just about having a good taste. Taste comes from seeing a bunch of stuff. Pick your influences carefully. Apple MacOS Concept series 3 of 5

This reminds me of "Peep Show"'s undying classics youtube.com/watch?v=PiLVAz…

So OK, I don't trust 99.9% of people who use unironically the phrase "I'm often asked" - and ban them on the spot. I'm often asked - whey exactly. 🧵

I do believe that modern science is experiencing very serious challenges right now but it's not like there were not crises to overcome before. Science will manage - I really how that scientists like this won't x.com/lastpositivist…

I've never had any problems with companion objects in Kotlin - in my opinion they are superior to static approach. Basically, companion objects are static context you can treat just as object - for instance, make it inherit specific interface. Ain't it awesome? It's awesome!!!

For me those look like comfortably long legs!

Unpopular opinion or popular one - I honestly don't know, but I believe that Nvidia should be punished for the bold attempt of ripping media content at cosmic scales but this will never happen.

I hate what's going on in USA with all this library bans. However the title is intentionally misleading. Outlawing something and banning from school libraries (which is, again, a criminally stupid thing to do) are still different things.

Atoms! We should count atoms! It’s atoms that count.

TIL: there are more transistors in the AirPods Pro than in the CPU of a MacBook Pro from 2010 One is a professional laptop, the other earphones running on a battery weighing about 1 gram Moore's Law's one hell of a thing

I wonder what was the ideology behind not having any kind of download tasks in Gradle, regarding the fact that well, you know, this is the most basic action that Gradle actually does itself - that is, downloading artefacts.

Oh God please no, it is literally a road to hell

This word is going crazy. Slack trying to use your private conversation committed in a freaking paid service, Adobe claiming the they will analyse your content.

AfD are such losers that even other major European right-wingers turn their backs on them
