8.The Energy Act 2017 establishes the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency as the Nuclear Energy Programme Implementing Organization (NEPIO) increasing KNEB's mandate to carrying out research, development and dissemination of activities in the energy sector.

4. Nuclear medicine uses radiation to allow doctors to make a quick, accurate diagnosis of the functioning of person's specific organs & treat them.Radiotherapy is used to treat medical conditions, especially cancer, to weaken & destroy particular targeted cells.

3.The CPF focuses on food and agriculture,human health and nutrition, water resources management, industrial applications,sustainable energy development, human resource capacity in nuclear science and technology, and strengthening national radiation safety and nuclear security.

1.On 31 May 2017, Dr Eng. Joseph K. Njoroge @DrNjorogeJoseph , Ps Ministry of Energy and Mr Dazhu Yang, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation signed Kenya’s 4th Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2017–2022.

8. The nuclear safety culture refers to the core values and behavior resulting from a collective commitment by leaders and individuals to emphasize safety over competing goals to ensure protection of people and the environment.

3. KNEB is conducting a Reactor Technology Assessment that will aid the country in choosing a suitable nuclear reactor that meets the nuclear safety criteria including defence in depth concept and the national requirements and considerations in relation to nuclear safety..
