The scary thing is these are conditions a few blocks away from 2 schools & this is how much space drivers claim when there are no PBLs. We should center protected space especially around the travel of kids @ATLDOT @apsupdate @AmirForATL

I made it sound easy but it's not easy...it is simple though. If streets are designed so people drive at safe speeds - let's say 25 mph - they are dramatically less likely to kill someone if there is a crash.

“Decatur has long been a leader when it comes to creating spaces that are safe and welcoming for people walking and biking.” atlantanewsfirst.com/2023/11/13/adv…

With so many recent crashes, especially involving people walking, we need a sense of urgency at state, regional, and local levels to deliver projects that make streets measurably safer #VisionZero decaturish.com/2023/11/decatu…

There is no one single solution to Atlanta’s traffic woes. Rather, a combination of high-quality, accessible, equitable transit, bike lanes, and safe streets will help to make our city an easier place to get around—and a better place to live for all. tinyurl.com/bddxm7ej

I covered FOUR extended RED ALERTS - complete interstate closures - overnight Saturday and the @WSBTraffic Team and I covered a serious of major messes last Wed. PM. This is all more proof we need more ways around our fair town. Latest for @wsbradio & @ajc wsbradio.com/news/local/gri…

Hey @MARTAservice where's the 10:30 pm route 24 bus from Edgewood? It's not here, not on the real-time bus, and didn't see an alert.

Bus route I grew up on: 33 Briarcliff (RIP) 🏫 Bus route I spent young adulthood riding to work, bars, and dates: 71 Cascade 🤩 Route I ride with my family, to the movies, to get Downtown: 21 Memorial 🚸 What route do you rely on? #TransitEquityDayATL

Tomorrow is #TransitEquityDayATL. @letspropelatl has some actions for ya'll in addition to riding transit. And at USI, we are continuing cross-sector partnerships to improve health access through transit #S4A in addition to our #micromobility lab co-directed @Fei_Li1

This motivated me to donate to @letspropelatl #GivingTuesday

My mom, who's in her 70s, is visiting Atlanta for the first time in several years. We walked from Midtown to Va-Hi yesterday — areas she frequented when she lived here in the 80s and 90s — and it hit home for me how dangerous Atlanta streets and sidewalks are for seniors.
