Published today: Revisiting the ‘flexibility paradox’: degree of work schedule flexibility and time use patterns across gender and occupational groups dlvr.it/SyTzFP
Our new paper shows that the degree of work schedule flexibility matters in time use patterns across gender and occupation groups!
New pub with @SenhuWang @Sandhyamma is out. Using limited flexible schedules is related to shorter paid work hours/more free time among men in higher occupations. Men in lower occupations are likely exploited by these flexible schedules by working more/having less free time.

“Overall, rather than providing an “opportunity” for a more egalitarian division of household labor, the use of flexible work arrangements maintains or even exacerbates the “exploitation” of women under the existing traditional gender norms.” New article!
New article with @ChengChengSoc is out in @SF_Journal Using longitudinal couple-level dyadic data, we find that the use of flexible working arrangements maintains or even exacerbates the unequal gendered division of household labor. academic.oup.com/sf/article-abs…
I love it when people provide even more evidence of the #Gendered #FlexibilityParadox where #flexibleworking results in an unequal division of #housework #childcare. Very similar to my paper with @cara_booker but this paper uses a #dyadic model but with similar conclusions!
