I celebrate this 4th of July by using my inalienable right as an American to authoritatively spout off on things I may or may not know anything about, here the UK elections to ABC news. abcnews.go.com/International/…

Because this was requested: behold, Popcorn.

OK, I know this isn't what you're here for, but there's been an shortage of popcorn photos around here recently

What I didn’t have time to do was to take a victory lap that I pretty much predicted this 3 years ago: e-ir.info/2021/05/05/opi… That article mostly holds up, though Biden hasn’t worked through the WTO like I thought he would.

Interview over. I wasn’t entirely satisfied with my performance (when am I ever?) but I got a couple of my points across well enough, I think. I’ll post a link to the segment when they provide it so you can judge for yourselves!

Reminder: In about an hour (10:18), I’ll be appearing on @WIOD radio to talk about Biden’s tariffs on China. Tune in at wiod.iheart.com

Returning to Twitter for some self-promotion: I’ll be appearing on Miami’s WIOD radio tomorrow at ~10:18 AM with @IODManny to talk about Pres. Biden’s newly announced tariffs on China. You can listen along on IHeart Radio even if you aren’t in S. Florida. wiod.iheart.com

🎙️ Just wrapped up an engaging panel presentation at #APSA2023. I presented my survey experiment on elite decision-making in Multilateral Development Banks. Grateful for @SeanDEhrlich for the feedback and the @Interna01697120 section!

Pskov is notable as being the site of the climactic battle in Eisenstein’s Alexander Nemsky. Probably not relevant to current events, but you never know.

Air Raid Sirens can be heard and a Massive Fire is burning in the Russian City of Pskov near the Estonian Border.

Wheeee! Hurricane warning in Tallahassee! (FTR, worst of the storm seems likely to pass east of us and it is still officially unlikely we get hurricane force sustained winds despite the warning, but the next 24+ hours are still likely to be anxiety inducing at a minimum.)

But CNN recently told me that Tim Scott was gaining support among both Republicans and Democrats. Was that “people in a diner told the reporter something” bullshit or did the reporter have even less evidence than that?

*New* Trump now holds his largest lead in our polling. DeSantis has fallen further back. Everyone else is in single digits Here: tinyurl.com/3zxv8mee

There’s a pretty decent chance Democrats will retain control of the Senate because Ohio Republicans passed a draconian anti-abortion. Just as, if not more, important, it looks like that bill will be overturned in November.
