In 1947 two “nations” India & Pakistan born overnight. Pakistan openly used theocracy, India kept theocracy wrapped up to keep country united. In 1980s Indira Gandhi turned to RSS-Hindutva politics for getting broader Hindu vote-support. That brought Blue Star Op & Sikh pogrom.
Sikh pogrom of November 1984 was outcome of same politics that Partitioned India in 1947 using religion/ communalism as political tools. Partition took lives of one million, uprooting other 8 millions in Punjab. Sikh genocide was Partition like cleansing killed 10,000 innocents.
Farmer leaders share equal blame as Punjab govt for not taking up in advance the issue of Central stocks occupying mills before Paddy season begins on October first. Farmer unions have not done home work to warn CM Mann ahead of crop arrival knowing him having no clout in Delhi.
Central govt has not removed its 12 million rice of last year stocked in mills of Punjab for vacating space for new crop of about 18 millions this year. Millers not taking new arrival of paddy thus it lying unsold in grain markets. Alas! if farmer leaders were unaware about it ?

However BJD leaders did express great suspicion over the votes counted in Orissa being 10.5% more than votes polled. Such large gaps never seen before and EC refuses to explain such gaps in tech age. Historically gap between votes polled & counted has been less than 1%.
