My coworkers have got to the be the most toxic people I’ve ever met. Specifically the older generation (40-50+). Constantly gossiping and starting rumors about other staff? Grow the fuck up.
Had my first hydrops baby yesterday & I’ve never seen a preemie that was so difficult to ventilate/oxygenate. 3 chest tubes, 3 needle decompressions, on nitric, 3 different ventilators trialed & he still passed. I am not ✨ ok ✨
I’ve been training in the NICU for 2 weeks and I LOVE it here. I was so burnt out from COVID ICU I was seriously thinking of quitting but this saved me 😭❤️
I got ghosts that follow me around—and they make their presence known. People I’ve pulled from cars, fires, bathtubs, lakes. People I’ve cut down that we’re hanging by their neck. Sometimes when I think about them it’s like I’m right there, again. Never alone.
If your loved one comes to the hospital & ends up in ICU with covid we are going to care for them and do all the things we have to offer to sustain them. Please don't harass staff for not giving garlic or ivermectin OR CALL US MURDERERS for doing why they came in the first place.
“But the vaccine doesn’t even guarantee you won’t get sick, it really only stops you from dying.” Not dying sounds pretty fucking spectacular, to me.
If you don’t believe in Covid….fine. If you don’t believe in the vaccine….fine. If you refuse to wear a mask….whatever. If you go against every CDC recommendation…go for it. But on that same note, don’t come to the hospital and take away a bed from someone who needs it.
My hospital just mandated the covid vaccine today & over 100 people have already quit… if we thought staffing was bad now, just wait 🙃
PSA to any doctors: stop ordering mucomyst, it does absolutely n o t h i n g 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
PSA: Just because your patient is vented and sedated doesn’t mean they can’t hear you. TALK TO THEM! Tell them who you are and what you’re doing! Tell them how good of a job they’re doing. Give them compassion.

As a newer grad RT singled alone with 10 COVID+ vents, 3 proned, 1 ECMO, 1 nitric, 1 Epo..... I am fuckin tired to the point where I dread coming to work every single shift😟
