In the early 90's Tim Sweeney sent newsletters to devs he worked with, and in one of these he included intel on what Apogee was up to. In his first point the game he's referring to is none other than Wolfenstein 3D!

I won a major award! I don't usually post things to make everyone super jealous, but @Apogee_Ent just sent me an original Duke Nukem mousepad and Duke/Nukem '96 bumper sticker! 😎Thank you Apogee, @ScottApogee & team for this and all you do!

My book on the rise of indie games in the 90s, Shareware Heroes: The renegades who redefined gaming at the dawn of the internet, is 50% off at @unbounders for a limited time. unbound.com/books/sharewar…

If you were a good Duke Nukem 3D modder with released levels, you might have been contacted to get your level(s) on one of many level packs like this one.

Many of the alien concepts for Duke Nukem Forever didn't make it into the game, like this Grunt Alien.

Another good book for Duke 3D (N64 version) on my shelf. These books were actually a hassle for us, because we often had to help provide tools for the authors to get the images they needed, then we'd have to proof read them for accuracy, and in the end they weren't meaningful…

There used to be a time win an AOL disc was included in every game magazine and every PC you bought. Seems like I had to throw out about 5 AOL discs each week.

In Nov 1996 we released the Plutonium Pak, the only expansion we made internally for Duke 3D.

What space game was Tim or Epic working on back in 1991?

Remember Rock Band? I still have this hoodie the team gave me from the Las Vegas DICE convention I went to in 2008.

Apogee used to ship a lot of games! Here's Bryan Turner gettin' goofy sitting on boxes full of UPS shipping boxes. (On the shelves in the back are game boxes we'd ship out.) H/T: @JoeSiegler

I was a huge Jumpman fan on the C-64, made by Randy Glover. So when Dave Sharpless showed me his work on a remake I was super excited to help him finish making it. I knew that the original publisher, Epyx, had gone outta business, so I assumed that the rights were public domain.…
