One of the biggest tragedies of 9/11 was the way in which the word “citizen” was replaced by “civilian.” A citizen has inalienable rights. A citizen has skin in the game. A citizen helps a community. A citizen is responsible. A civilian is collateral damage in a police state.

Tonight I had a bat in my walk out basement. No telling how long he’s been down there, but he finally decided to swoop me once I turned out the lights. A few hours of wearing him out culminated with catching him in a heavy blanket. I wouldn’t recommend this. Call a pro.
