My article on stigma in therapy. Therapists' are human too! thecounsellorscafe.co.uk/single-post/20…

If I was hypothetically (I’m not yet but may be in the future) planning a return to counselling practice - what course(s) should I do? Do the @TheLinkCentreUK offer anything? If not, they should.

Are you a qualified counsellor who would like to become a UKCP registered Psychotherapist (level 7) contact rachel@thelinkcentre.co.uk for a chat to see if you are eligible for our APL route Plsrt #therapistsconnect

Mental health awareness week next week and to be honest with you, I’m so tired of it. We need real change.

Do we need more compassion in complaints handling? In our latest blog, Prof Louise Wallace discusses the experience of witnesses in the fitness to practise process & how a trauma-informed approach could help regulators inject compassion into the process. professionalstandards.org.uk/news-and-blog/…

Random tweet but if one wants to move away from social sciences to history… how do you go about it?

At long last! Folks, this is your last chance. And it’s the ONLY chance that you’ll get to share your thoughts/experiences about #SCoPEd in a formal way outside of your membership body. Deadline is the 17th May - let’s go 📣 #TherapistsConnect

#ShareYourExperience We want to hear your thoughts about how the SCoPEd framework, which is led by six of our Accredited Registers, affects you. We invite you to share your experience by 17 May by emailing 📧 scoped-sye@professionalstandards.org.uk professionalstandards.org.uk/share-your-exp…

Deep joy @BACP fees going up again. Please don’t suggest I should resign. I can’t. It’s required for my job. I know. I know….

Fell down something of a rabbit hole yesterday and ended up researching hypokalaemia for some reason. I'm not a dr.

We need to normalize #traumaresponses and understand why they show up in a #healingspace. People have no reason to trust #traumaworkers. We sometimes need to test our #safety and that's ok. Setting #boundaries is #healing. #trauma #therapy #socialwork #traumarecovery

Spent ages looking for a tweet on safety and risk in social care and can’t find it now. Will try again later

As a consultant clinical psychologist, can I tell you nothing is less true. It is incredibly difficult to get disability benefits. It is not just a case of going to the GP and self-declaring. Claimants are constantly being assessed and reassessed to get and keep needed benefits.

For anyone interested in the wellbeing of health professionals Read this. @adave_NHS explores how we can help prevent doctors from dying by suicide Beautifully written in a style very different to most 'reports' It is an important & emotional read churchillfellowship.org/ideas-experts/…

Concordant vs complementary counter transfersference explanations anyone? 🤯

Where can I read research papers? I could try #EBSCO via #BACP but not been able to get it working yet. Any other ideas?

I’m hugely concerned about a reduction in funding for #DomesticAbuse and more generally #MentalHealthSupport

You can't keep registering and accrediting services that use unpaid and/or unregistered counsellors.
