Today I learned that my mayor is not only someone who will fight for public services in our city budget he’s also a Lord of the Rings nerd!

Feeling sad? Life got you down? Try "Binging the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy." Lord of the Rings is clinically proven to increase exposure to fellowship, bravery, and sacrifice. Side effects may include cruelty, malice, and the will to dominate all life.

Just Cause legislation is an imperative to protect workers across the Cornell and Ithaca community from arbitrary firing! You can learn more about the just cause coalition and how to get involved here: justcauseithaca.org @NelpNews @UAW @IthacaDSA @WorkingFamilies

cornellsun.com/2024/11/11/jus… Just Cause legislation, if passed, is expected to enforce requirements for employers to give at least a 30-day notice to an employee when terminating them and provide specific reasons for doing so.

These budget cuts will decimate public services and harm the city of Ithaca's ability to care for its most vulnerable citizens. Join us to stand for a People First Budget today: actionnetwork.org/petitions/pass… @IthacaDSA @cornellydsa #Ithaca

Final budget hearing on Wednesday, November 13 at 6. Be there at 530 to sign up for public comment.

New Yorkers shut down 6th Ave after devastating election results. It is now up to us—immigrants, working class people, women, the TGNCIQ+ community, and allies—to #ProtectOurFutures.

This goes for wherever you are! There are incredible @YDSA_ chapters in colleges and universities across the country including my home chapter @cornellydsa! Find your org! Get organized! Get involved! ✊🌹

Despair thrives in isolation, but dies in organization. DSA is a political home for me and thousands of New Yorkers, many of whom were on the streets today. Build the left, fight the right, and join DSA: socialists.nyc/join?source=zo…

If you live in New York, vote for Harris and all other candidates up and down the Working Families Party line where possible. WFP builds grassroots party and challenges the corruption of Hochul et al- while sanely fighting Trumpian fascism and NY GOP idiocy.

The NYWFP has left it all out on the field this year. We’ve been part of an unprecedented effort to block fascism, build progressive power, and win a governing majority for working families champions up and down the ballot in New York.

Kicked off the last day of early voting by rallying with @AnaMariaforNY @NYWFP @wfptompkins @Local2300Uaw @UAW @UAWregion9 to GOTV for @leawebbforny @JoshRileyUE and our campaign! Let’s win this in 2 days District 125!

A lot of ink has spilled talking about a few unions who didn't endorse Kamala, but I'd like to take a moment to recognize the unions who not only endorse the VP but have gone TO THE WALL for her. So, here's a thread in appreciation of the labor movement...

Just voted for the first time EVER! So excited to cast my ballot for Harris/Walz, @JoshRileyUE, @leawebbforny, and @Kelles4NY on the @WorkingFamilies Party line! Plus YES on Prop 1! 🗳️✅ #IVoted #2024Election #EarlyVoting

Cornell paid for this: "we would allow [a KKK representative to be invited]" "calling someone a 'k*po' ... is protected speech" "[Trans identity] … is an assault on truth." Why pay for racism, anti-Semitism, and transphobia when you could invest in our community members?

Cornell’s president wrote an op-ed today defending his decision to ban nonviolent student protesters from campus, then went out of his way to clarify that using slurs against our anti-Zionist Jewish peers is A-OK

When Cornell ignores nonviolent protestors, it always refers them to “proper channels” like student government — but they just banned our Student Assembly First Gen & Low Income student representative (and @cornellydsa co-chair) from attending SA meetings. cornellsun.com/2024/10/30/stu…

It truly is outrageous! From Harvard to Penn to Cornell elite universities are doubling down on draconian punishments for students, staff, and faculty rather than doing the obvious and morally correct thing and divesting from weapons manufacturers! Shame!

This is extraordinary. Harvard has suspended 25 professors for silently reading in the library. thecrimson.com/article/2024/1….

I’m not a Democrat. I’m a democratic socialist. I have fundamental disagreements with the majority of elected Democrats on the most important issues. That said, I don’t want Republicans in charge of anything, anywhere, ever. So I’ll be voting for Democrats.

Proud of my co-chair! The fight continues and despite the unjust repression from our university @cornellydsa remains stronger than ever!

solidarity forever with my brother @atakandeviren04, who was unjustly barred from cornell’s campus for 3 years. in his stead i’m proud to step up as co-chair of @cornellydsa, which has grown remarkably fast and become a fixture of our campus politics in under a year and a half.
