If I need to start again from the zero only with smartphone📱 and internet 📡 this is how I’ll make it all back. Thread 🧵
If somebody says “we don’t have the funds right now, call us back later” or “It’s too expensive,” then you haven’t learned YET how to get them in ‘results’ based thinking over ‘price or cost’ based thinking.
Want to make more money? Learn sales/persuasion Struggle with dating? Learn sales/persuasion Want to get promoted? Learn sales/persuasion Want to convince your friends that pineapple belongs on pizza? Learn sales/persuasion
The most successful salespeople: 1) Sound human 2) Don’t complain 3) Follow a framework 4) Use the right tonality 5) Know how to disarm their prospects 6) Ask great questions 7) Know how to prevent and diffuse objections
Hard pill to swallow: you’re only anxious about taking sales calls because you’ve been forced to use sales techniques that work against human behavior, which triggers sales resistance.
Harsh truth: If someone in your industry sells more than you, your problems aren't the leads, the offer, or the economy. Excuses don't get you paid. Better sales ability does.
Selling is like dating: Neediness is unattractive Desperation repels Chasing doesn’t work so well If you want people to respect you, you need to raise your status.
Questions have the power to make people think. Questions have the power to make people feel. Questions have the power to make people move. The caveat: you need to learn how to go below the surface.
Them: “I don’t make rash decisions like that” You: “Rash Decisions”? (confused tone) Now watch how the prospect opens up about the REAL concern they have, as “Rash Decisions” is NOT an objection, just a smoke screen.
See... Selling is easy when you have the right skills. But you have to be willing to commit yourself to acquiring the right skills.
Them: “Oh, I’m just looking for the best price” You: If the price the most important thing to you or actually getting XYZ Result? Don’t fall for the bait or else you’ll be commoditized in their mind. Get them to think about the results, not the price/cost
Is your ego holding you back from earning more? As I like to say: You are what your commission check says you are. If you’re not earning more money, it’s because you haven’t acquired the necessary skills yet.
❌ “The way this call is going to go…” ❌ “I’m going to ask you some questions…” ❌ “And if you’re a good fit for us…” Phrases like these typically trigger sales resistance. They know if they say “I’m ready to pay” you’re not going to turn them down :)
When you call back older leads who didn't buy, don't say "I'm just following up". That's what every other salesperson says.
Average salespeople only focus on price. Great salespeople focus on getting the prospect into results based thinking.
If a prospect is not opening up to you. Ask them this: "Off the record, what's the main reason you might be looking for.... (plug in their end goal)?"
Everyone has cognitive biases. Most people won’t open up to you just because you’re a sales rep. So, avoid sounding like one.
While selling never sounds overly exciting while selling, it comes across as salesy. Salesy people do not successfully sell.
Prospects don't buy your thing, they buy the results of what your thing does for them.
Selling is a skill. Persuasion is a skill. Cold calling is a skill. Negotiation is a skill. Emotional intelligence is a skill. Great sales people are made, not born.
Learning about this things you will become top sales performer: -Tonality -Objection prevention -Questioning -Body language -Objection handling Sales is a skills game, not a numbers game…
