One of those ‘can do’ items is pending for more than a ‘decade’. We need a solution to the #GreenCardBacklog . @POTUS can sign an executive order and bring relief to more than 1.5 millions Indian-Americans in the wait.

Welcome to India, Mr. President. The U.S. and India can do so much for our people and the world together.

Indian #F1visa students path to Green card is 200+ yrs Do US universities, US embassy or education influencers in India tell them the truth? You can get it in less than 200 years only if: 1. You fall in exceptions (10℅ make it) 2. REBIRTH is in your genes.

This is very much legal if the Administration wants to do something to help bolster STEM immigration. 👍

O'Leary Ventures Chairman Kevin O'Leary @kevinolearytv says bad U.S. immigration policy is resulting in a brain drain and Canada is benefitting from H1-B visa problems.

Congress should end discriminatory country caps in US immigration laws. Until then, @POTUS could authorize work and travel authorization to those waiting years for permanent residency. People should be able to change jobs without risking the right to live and work in the USA.

7/11 Good morning @POTUS You know you can stop brain drain and provide relief to so many high-skilled workers who are in never ending #greencardbacklog just because of discriminatory country cap? What is stopping you from giving them EAD+AP?

While businesses are desperately searching for employees, there is a backlog of visas for skilled workers. H.R. 1535 would allow allocated visas that went unused in previous years to be utilized without increasing the total number of visas available.

“Canada has no annual limit on high-skilled temp. visas & no per-country limit. In contrast, the vast majority of H-1B registrations in the US are refused due to the H-1B annual limit. Green card applicants from India can wait decades.” @gsiskind @erikbryn forbes.com/sites/stuartan…

Green Card backlog is creating undue hardship, stress and suffering to many families, sponsoring HB 1535 is just a start to make things right for hard working families.

Biden can reduce the backlog with a stroke of the pen. Stop counting family members. The INA supports this so Congress can continue to sit on its butt.

Canada is set to take advantage of the disaster out backlogs in US employment based immigration, giving work permits which allow many individuals in H-1B status in the US the ability to work for almost any Canadian employer.

When they say to #GCbacklog "if you are so talented, apply in EB1"... Per-country caps are evil, rac!st, remnants of a bygone era and must go. A scientist from India is no more or less worthy than one from Norway.

I am the live example who has approved I140 in EB1A and can not apply for any significant federal funding for research as principal investigator due to my visa status. Retrogression & country caps kill the potential of many. Implement merit based immigration without country caps.

I'm sure this program is not only for Indians but people of all nationalities, who falls under these categories, would benefit from it. Then why they are announcing during Indian PM's state visit? I forgot. Only Indians need to keep renewing their work visas for lifetime. Others…

U.S. will announce a pilot programme to renew visas domestically for certain petition-based temporary workers. This program could expand to cover H1b and L skilled visas by 2024 and to other categories eventually. Live Updates: thehindu.com/news/national/…

Proud to co-sponsor the H.R. 1535 Eliminating Backlogs Act of 2023, bipartisan legislation which increases employment-based immigration visas. Immigration needs to be merit-based, not dictated by arbitrary caps. #ImmigrationReform

I wish there were Indian lawmakers urging @narendramodi to raise exploitation issues with @POTUS US needs to stop recruiting majority of International students and high-skilled workers from India without giving them equal opportunities. #RemoveCountryCap reuters.com/world/us/dozen…

Our immigration system is broken and needs fixing through comprehensive immigration reform. I am committed to working on the green card backlog through Congress.

Last month, I sent out a survey to over 200k El Pasoans asking them about the Dignity Act, my comprehensive, bipartisan solution to a broken immigration system. Two-thirds of El Pasoans approved! Visit my website to learn more about this legislation 👇🏽 escobar.house.gov/news/documents…

Two points: 1) the visa bulletin at this point is just trolling. It is offensive. 2) we can do better than publishing an openly discriminatory document each month and having people who actually know about immigration actively defend this atrocity. #greencardbacklog.

The concept of sending immigrant families back to their home country just to get a paper stamp, via a broken and overburdened system is flawed. #StampInAmerica

We've hit another milestone! We're excited to share that over 600,000 Indians have applied for a U.S. visa so far this year. We're closer than ever to reaching our goal to process 1 million visas in 2023! Keep following along on our #Missionto1M!

Children of long-term visa holders who’ve been waiting years for a green card and age out of their dependent status are known as “Documented Dreamers” – and they deserve certainty. We’re backing bipartisan legislation that provides age-out protections and keeps families together.

Given the current state of #GreenCardBacklog, none of these students will be able to immigrate to the United States under certain employment based visa categories. So why are we selling the American dream to the youth knowing that we are pushing them into an endless dark tunnel?
