Our Women's team is trying to get their first win of the season, after some well earned draws against stronger clubs. 8 year-old superstar Charlotte won her game and new club member Swati was looking to convert her advantage on the top board!

It wasn't perhaps the highlight of my tournament 🙂, but very impressed with Ruqayyah - not just her sensible play, but her reaction afterwards and contributions to the commentary. A fantastic achievement, and these 1st/2nd placings augur well for the future of English chess.

Incredible performance by Rida Ruqayyah at the 2nd Cambridge International Open! 🌟 Beating GM Mark Hebden, drawing against GM Peter Wells, and gaining 134 rating points, Secured the first place among female players! 🏆 #ChessChamps #CambridgeOpen

Bodhana will be on @itvnews this evening.

I've been lucky enough to meet and play against Bodhana myself after she learnt to play chess during lockdown. What an inspiration. x.com/thetimes/statu…
