It was a memorable and emotional ceremony - Queen’s unveiling of the plinth honouring Black medical students that were at the center of the color ban. They were rubbed of their future, their existence at Queen’s buried and erased!Yesterday their names were called one by one.

If we cancel all student debt, ppl will want medical debt forgiven. If we cancel medical debt, they're going to want free healthcare. If we give them that, they'll want us to house the homeless. Then everyone's going to want a living wage. The whole society will fall apart.

Excellent presentation by @DrAWaddington on intimate partner violence. It can be difficult for trainees to inquire about these issues, thanks for helping us with these suggestions 👇

Why is ending racism a debate?

Sara Medina Kasasni Reposted

Racism is a public health crisis. Anti-Blackness is a public health crisis. Police brutality is a public health crisis. Medicine, as a profession, is entirely political. Our duty to advocate for our patients include speaking up against injustice. #WhiteCoatsForBlackLives

Race doesn't cause inequity. Racism causes inequity.

It's a privilege to learn about racism instead of experiencing it your whole life.

George Floyd and I were both arrested for allegedly spending a counterfeit $20 bill. For George Floyd, a man my age, with two kids, it was a death sentence. For me, it is a story I sometimes tell at parties. That, my friends, is White privilege.

Thrilled to be part of this amazing team! @CUGHnews
