they'd have to hope their MOT wasn't due that month and their cars needed no repairs. The washing machine, cooker, or fridge didn't break down and it wasn't Christmas or anyone's birthdays

PAS: She told me that the panel had said to her something like 'when will this ever end?' referring to the repeated requests I had made for help. I will never forget that as this was the reaction I got when asking for help to keep my son safe.
The defecit model still assumes carers must be mistaken if they seek support. And ensures there's never a shortage of money & time which 'services' can invest in the process of stalling and saying 'no service' indefinately. @CaptainK77 @SendCrisis @SpcialNdsJungle @2020_send
Sure funding is limiting & disadvantageous. Personally, & another case, it's not worth price of 1-2 reports. Espec. if all necessary reports not advised for! Struggling to understand LA firms furloughing busy staff over xmas too, when worked all year without interruption!
Yes, very patchy delivery but the £s given for the job is very, very low. The reports which can be commissioned are often essential though
Really good article about how disabled children and their parents are treated by society just for trying to secure basic human rights. Also sad the way parents are often misunderstood, judged & criticised if they don’t do this in a certain “acceptable” manner...

Tried legal help 4 18 yr old's appeal. Nightmare, hugely inefficient on ourselves, documents not passed on on several occasions. Felt like legal kinder garten at times. Others have experienced worse. Oddly, LA better prepared than usual. 3rd hearing pending. The cost is MASSIVE.
No, very much solicitor on board at initial response stage. The query becomes - is it LA/parent chaos, a poor solicitor or a mix of both? It is the solicitor's job to advise their client - so???
