As a Canadian, I stand for our freedom of speech, for our right to protest peacefully and respectfully. The only way to eradicate all forms of hate in our society is to not passively stand by when it happens. 🇨🇦
The National War Memorial represents those who’ve served, fought, and died for Canada. One of them was murdered on that very site, and this person is standing on the tomb of another. We’ve seen some disgusting things today, but this tops the list.
After explaining to these less than fine Canadians of the hallowed grounds upon which they trode, this was their reaction in the name of Freedom. Unsat!

Everyone has a right to their opinion. But the abuse, intimidation and naked hate have no place in our democracy. There were mothers with children calling our prime minister “a f***ing asshole”. Come on people, we can do better than that.
