Friday marked a historical moment as @POTUS nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as an associate justice of the US Supreme Court. She will be the first Black woman to join the Supreme Court and we can’t think of a more inspirational way to close #BlackHistoryMonth!
Today we begin the celebration of National Black History Month. February is an opportunity for us to share the stories of endurance, strength, and Black excellence. Let us celebrate our history in full and rededicate ourselves to freedom, justice, and opportunity for all.
Black history is American history. As Black History Month begins, we honor those who built America from its foundation and still work every day to make this country stronger and more free. We must remember our history, not just this month but every month.
