There's a subtle humor I've only really found in the South where the practitioner knows you think they're stupid, knows the character you expect them to play so they do but in a way where they make you the punchline to themselves for their own amusement.
Remember when the majority of people’s opinions were trapped within the walls of their living rooms? I miss that. I miss that sort of silence.
You only had to engage with the topics you searched for. Even the big hubs were by topic. There weren't trends or paid search results in your face. There was a lot more whimsy/obscure personal interest, and fewer people using it for sales or politics. Text documents persisted.
