Whilst England not winning the trophy is exhaustingly familiar, it is refreshing that there are no villians - no evil gamesmanship, no referee shocker, no penalty missed. Just beaten by the better team on the day (and of the tournament).

My YA #Splinters is out today. And I think I can take the first-to-last-draft trophy from @whatSFSaid ... It took me 15 years. To put that in perspective, my mum, now 80, was 65 when I started. And I looked like this.

This album is awesome! It's hard to describe Troy as he has his own style but expect exceptional slide guitar, growling vocals, glam rock vibes mixed with indie rock swagger, comin' at you at 100mph. I'd say it'll blow your socks off, but I'd keep tight hold of your pants too!

And that's first draft completed on my latest novel. However, the most astonishing thing is that I managed to print it off in one go without any printer meltdowns. First time ever! And I also blagged tickets to see @WhenRiversMeet at the end of the month. A good news day!
Just watched Life of Pi after reading the book years ago. Such an inspiring work of magnificent imagination. Also, my cat will hereafter be known to me as Richard Parker.

I got really frustrated by the government's inaction on mandatory swift blocks in new build houses. Warm words achieve nothing. Then I realised that while we have many bird boxes in our garden, we don't have a swift box! We do now. 🙂 @WriterHannahBT
