Poe’s name in @UVA’s list of library fines for 1826 @RareUVA In the background, the book Poe returned late: 4th vol of Rollin’s Oeuvres Complètes (1807). Poe paid 58 of the 60 cents due. In the early 20th c, students from Virginia Intermont College paid the remaining 2 cents.

Year-in review highlights: The Rotunda Planetarium. Using Thomas Jefferson’s notes, found in Special Collections, @MadelineZehnder, @NealDCurtis, & @samuellemley realized his vision of a planetarium with constellations projected on the Rotunda dome. at.virginia.edu/3mEy9nm
We’ve been posting highlights from FY2020 Annual Report—a strange year that went through a “normal” semester & then turned upside down with COVID. Check them out below, & follow the blog to view more as we post (& to keep up with us in general): at.virginia.edu/36wsomK
Clemons first floor has been closed since mid-March. Just went down there for the first time in a while. Strange...has that always been there?
For any friends interested in my @booktracesuva work, here's a video of my recent co-presentation with @topshelver at UConn.
Did you miss our @booktracesuva event with @khj5c and @topshelver? Never fear! You can watch the recording now. (And check out our YouTube channel for other event recordings and our Get to Know a Fellow videos.) buff.ly/2JDmJSQ
Gayle’s depth of knowledge and patient regard for detail and accuracy are legendary. She’s led me and the @RotundaLibrary team out of many research labyrinths over the years.
Fifty years ago today, Gayle Cooper joined @uvalibrary as Rare Book Cataloger. She is currently the longest-serving Library staff member—and still going strong (this is not her retirement!). Join us in celebrating our amazingly giving & incredibly knowledgeable colleague! /1
The way we live now. All set up with a camera over Leviathan for a bit of co-teaching with @ChrisVVarren @CMULibraries
This corner of my office is exactly 1 Hinman Collators deep. Excited to put @CMULibraries newest ancestral machine, here appropriately clad in PPE, to use. #newacq
