Casual reminder that my first full-length history book is out! “The Pattern: The 33rd Regiment and the British Infantry Experience During the American Revolution, 1770-1783,” available online and in bookstores. All support greatly appreciated! helion.co.uk/military-histo…

Thank you to the veterans of Arnhem.

Went to the best show in town this weekend.

Redcoat History has a new video up, busting some myths about riflemen during the American Revolution. Part one looks at the Revolutionary forces, and part two will cover the Crown forces. I helped write it, so all views are much appreciated! youtube.com/watch?v=dsp2OO…

A place I’d like to visit someday. The Ross-Shire Buffs were my “local” regiment too, their recreated versions are looking good here!

Alternative History where the Entente Cordiale was signed in 1770 and France deployed the Expédition Particulière in 1776 to help Britain defeat its rebelling North American colonies.

Not quite the best photo of me ever, but I wanted to celebrate the fact that this weekend I got to finally meet @RobbieMacNiven and compare uniform notes/phd horror stories. Will do a proper thread about this really cool impression soon (assuming Robbie doesn't beat me to it)
