I remember being young better than I remember growing old. One day I looked in the mirror and thought, “How the heck did that happen?” But I can remember like yesterday lying on the grass with friends on South Troost 50 years ago and talking about what the clouds looked like.

My niece just found this with my sister’s jewelry. Because I am older, I always assumed I would leave first. But it didn’t work out that way.
RetroCrone has just joined bsky. HOWEVER, it took years to build my connections on Twitter/X. They hv made me smarter, cheered me up, advised me, been patient w/ me, made me laugh - & so much more. Deleting X would mean goodbye to many. Don’t think I can do that.
I am trying to deal with my sister’s passing and I’m hearing that I need to get off Twitter before 15th. Can some of the folks I have regular “conversation” with and who understand what is happening help me understand? Thanks!
I want a retirement home set up like a hotel. Safe, well maintained , comfortable private space w/ plenty of safe pleasant public space where I can meet people, visit friends, play cards. I don’t need bingo. I need something between independent living & assisted living.

How do we help each other going forward? How do we prepare practically & emotionally for the suffering we are going to see? Confronted by abused children, starving old people, fact it is not our fault won’t keep us from feeling we have to do something. How do we go forward?
Pretty much every penny paid in Social Security is spent. Cutting Soc Sec cuts consumer spending , which drives the economy.. A much smaller part of every dollar made by the wealthy is spent.
I am usually a pretty health conscious eater. Today I have eaten a cake donut, 1/2 muffin, several chocolate covered walnuts, PB toast and a mini PB choc bar. I may need an intervention.
Significant cuts to Medicare and/or Soc Sec will be a death sentence for many, myself included
Republican Senate is looking increasingly likely. My sister died earlier today. It looks like my country may die tonight. Pls tell me it’s not happening.
