Red Windsor apples growing well. Picked in August and sold in September and October.
Hop waste mulch added to the new Junami and Sunburst orchard. Brilliant for three reasons: 1. Increases worms/improves soil; 2. Suppresses weeds/reduces herbicides; 3. Reduces evaporation. This best practice is what new ELMS schemes should encourage.
Red Windsor apples looking gorgeous. Harvest starts in last week of August so plenty of time to reach the perfect size. Sweet, tart, complex, crispy, delicious! And very very British.

We used these moth mating disrupters last year (released from the brown capsule) and as a consequence used significantly less pesticide. Simply sterilises the moths and prevents fruit damage. We will be using them again this year!
