When I was 16, I had a Saturday job at Lloyd’s chemist. A woman often came in with her little boy who was called, Alan. He was very badly behaved & she used to regularly be heard shouting, ‘Jesus Christ, Alan’. He became known to staff as, JesusChristAlan.

A 55 mile challenge ended with me walking over 200 miles, raising £567 for @AlzResearchUK because my life has been touched by this awful disease. I am grateful I had the chance to hike in the Lake District & on the Camino Portugues. 🌄 Link to donate👇🧡 socialsync.app/fundraiser/cr-…

I wish there were a Nobel prize that could be awarded to Gisele Pelicot.

Life has been coming at me a bit hard lately but nothing a long weekend in the #LakeDistrict couldn't fix.

When I walk in nature, my problems do not miraculously disappear. They just seem to matter less. 🌳🍃🌸🌼🌞 #sundayvibes

Blown away by the engagement with this & also with how people see colour so differently! 😜 ❤️💗💜 Thank you all (apart from the person who said I looked like mutton & had awful knees) for your kind comments! I wore the green one 👗 My son & his friends loved the party! 🩵🎉

Me: it’s important not to need/seek validation from people and especially not from strangers. Also me: Which dress shall I pick for my son’s 21st birthday party tonight? (They are identical - just different colours) Please don’t say neither 🤦‍♀️🤣

The horrific footage from this week: An IDF soldier bragging he saw 2 Palestinian boys playing football…so he shot them in the head An IDF soldier burning down a house with a mother & her baby inside. You can hear the baby screaming…whilst the IDF soldier watches & sings…

My friend is a doctor. She had to be escorted from clinic today. The hospital had been told there was an imminent threat of violence to its ethnic minority staff. My son’s friend can’t go out with him tonight because his parents are scared for his safety. A national disgrace.

Just overheard someone say he has to collect his daughter early from nursery today because there is a riot planned near it. ‘Protecting women and children and saving ‘are’ country’ #FarageRiots #UKRiots

A riot is not a protest. A racist is not an activist. A thug is not a patriot. Far right extremism is precisely that. Words matter. Why are some in the media refusing to use them accurately?

Beks Reposted

The attacks on mosques and the police are planned in advance by a group who are travelling around the country to specific locations to carry them out. These aren’t protests or riots. This is terrorism.

Tonight’s shameful scenes do not represent our culture, our history, or our people. Our great city is built on togetherness and acceptance, and Sunderland will forever be for all. We are stronger as one community. Now. Then. Always. ❤️🤍

Originally from a small town in Gloucestershire, I came to Manchester at 17 years old in 1993. Diversity felt like something to be celebrated, & it was a privilege to meet people of different religions, cultures, & ethnicities. In 2024, seeing such hatred & #Riots is utterly 💔

Had norovirus earlier in the week 🤢 This was a tough gig today but got it done! 😅 10 miles 3 Wainwrights #LakeDistrict #Troutbeck
