The Swedish Parliament fought to repeal the law in 2012, but it was turned down. It was not until January 2013 that the law was repealed. Approximately 500 people have undergone forced sterilization under this law.

In Sweden in 1955, they were practicing and institutionalizing "race biology" per the Swedish Institute for Race Biology, up until 1958. After the 1940s, it even merged into genetics. Eugenic legislation went on until the 1970s. From 1934 to 1974, 62,000 Swedes were sterilized.


Bluetooth is named after King Harald "Bluetooth" Gormsson, who united Denmark and Norway in the year 958. His nickname came from his dark blue dead tooth.
