Apparently, TV stations in #Turkey do recognise #Abkhazia, #Artsakh and #SouthOssetia.

In the news of the major Turkish TV channels, it is common to publish maps showing parts of neighboring countries “to be conquered” by #Turkey. The left map, for example, includes parts of fellow @NATO member Greece, northern Syria and Iraq. The Turkish government never…

4k likes for this thread that leaves out 200 years of history and reduces the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict to 'Russia did it.' News flash: the Abkhaz are real people with real agency and grievances. Writing an article on the situation in Abkhazia this weekend for exactly this reason.

🇬🇪Occupied Georgia. Let’s talk about Abkhazia, an occupied part of Georgia. This small, Black Sea coastal territory has been at the center of historical conflicts, ethnic tensions, and geopolitical struggles. 🧵Here is the background and why this week’s unrest matters so much /25

Today, Abkhazia's Parliament was to vote on the controversial investment agreement with RU. The Parliament posponed the session, but the protesters near the bulding demand it be held and the treaty be turned down. They have now broken through the fence to the building.

🚨URGENT: Parliament gates stormed by protesters #Abkhazia

How many factual errors/exaggerations/propaganda points can you spot? Also, the "Why it happened" is equally, if not more, important than "What happened"? #Abkhazia x.com/terjehelland/s…

Quick facts for some Western journalists and commentators who might need a refresher on Abkhazia: ◾️Abkhazia is a partly recognised state, not just a footnote in someone else's narrative. ◾️No, Abkhazia was not invaded in 2008. Georgia did not lose Abkhazia in 2008 either.…

Meanwhile, whe ignorance of some Western media outlets, journalists, and independent commentators on the subject of Abkhazia is astonishing. Journalism should not be this simplistic. Many of them appear to be suffering from the Dunning-Kruger syndrome.

It still baffles me how @VFSGlobal still functions. 1. I am asked to come 15 mins prior to my appointment - I've always kept waiting for 45 mins+ 2. There are 4-5 different application checklists for a given country. I turned up at the office and just got handed a fresh one
