I spent my childhood eating plums and peaches from two trees in my grandparent’s yard. Some years we had so much fruit we’d struggle to find people who’d take a bucket or two FOR FREE so they wouldn’t go bad. Both trees are dead now, from last year’s heatwave.

getting tired of seeing so many "start a garden, grow your own food" posts lately presented as a solution to social collapse like we're not also in a mass disabling event that's making that kind of physical labor impossible for a significant number of people
