Billowing white clouds of Cow Parsley or Queen Anne's Lace (Anthriscus sylvestris) lining the hedgerows yesterday evening at sunset. May is definitely my favourite month! #WildflowerHour #HedgerowChallenge

Purton Ships’ Graveyard on the banks of the River Severn, where 86 abandoned ships were deliberately beached from 1909 to 1960s to halt the erosion of the river bank. The 'Harriett' Kennet barge (L) is a scheduled ancient monument. A fabulous site to visit. #Gloucestershire

Amazing day in the New Forest, guiding some friends and their kids on a fungi forage. Part of the day in woodland, the other part on grassland. What an incredible variety of fungi seen - the kids were enthused 😊 #fungi #newforest

A shaft of sunlight temporarily brightened up an otherwise grey afternoon at Stinchcombe Hill #Gloucestershire Despite the grey cloak, the soft palette of autumn colours looked beautiful 🍁🍂 #AutumnColours #AutumnVibes

Vibrant, jewel-like colours of Black Bryony (Tamus communis), Guelder Rose (Virbunum opulus) and Spindle (Euonymus europaeus) are brightening up the local hedgerows. Blue skies in autumn are the absolute best! 😍 #WildflowerHour #AutumnColours #AutumnVibes

For a week or so each year this single tree beneath Clifton Suspension Bridge puts on a stunning display of reds and greens. It’s something I have driven past every single year and always thought I should try and catch this transition of colour

Just look at that vibrant teal colour! A plethora of Green Elf Cup (Chlorociboria aeruginascens) fruiting bodies nestled between decomposing logs in Lower Woods Nature Reserve. What a find! 🩵💚 #fungi #mycology #woodland #mushrooms

A beautiful exploration of landscape through photography and an introduction to the wonderful landscape paintings of the late Rob Collins #Gloucestershire #landscapephotography

I’ve been taking a different kind of picture this week, sparked by my talented friend Rob Collins. natureview.substack.com/p/robs-view

Last year, in the early autumn, my papa had a fall. It all looked a bit dicey for a few days. It'd be almost a year before he actually died, but he wrote me a letter and prepared a gift for me to receive after he'd gone.
