something to make you smile

Some year 5 girls at my old school, St Margaret’s, wrote to the #covid19 research team at @UQ_News and asked to donate $100 from a school movie night. The response is just delightful. ❤️

I loved having a chinwag with these rural superstars in the lead up to #IWD last week - kids were in bed, glass of wine in hand and a few laughs! Thanks, @fleuranderson @RBCollective @pointerremote @FarmTableAU Let's do it again! bit.ly/39yP19n #agchatoz #aussieag

What's caught your eye this week in #ruralandregional news? We're prepping the mics for next week's podcast recording and curious what's got you and your mates talking around your weekend BBQ? #agchatoz #auspol #rrr #community

At @evokeAG @airtreevc made a comment about job growth in the startup sector and its impact compared to the claims around #adani showing the #agtech impact on job creation is equivalent but rarely gets credit. Anyone point me in direction of reads to back this up? #asktwitter

85,000-105,000ML of water is now expected to reach Menindee from upstream rains. With flooding around St George this flow should continue for a long time to come 👏

So, what would you give your agricultural industry for Christmas?

We could run our 3000 acre farm for 11 years on one days fuel load for an A380 Airbus which is 320,000 litres We’d grow 33,000 tons of grain, 16500 lambs & 650 bales of wool with a days fuel for a big jet! Overstating the impact of meat distracts from the real culprits

The statement that one meatless day per week is equivalent to not driving for 6 months is inaccurate and misleading in dangerous ways. It suggests that our main carbon emitting activity is meat eating and it de-emphasizes the use of fossil fuel activities such as driving.

EVERY year we’ve been here we have to fight fires coming out of the neighboring Nationa Park. When will people realise that if we lock up vast tracts of land with no cool burns or grazing pressure that they’re going to explode under the right (wrong) conditions? #AustralianFires
