It has been really interesting to see how our experience with the Intel 14th Gen instability issues has differed from what has been making the rounds. We are still seeing evidence of it, but at a MUCH lower rate than what others seem to be experiencing.

You may have heard about instability issues with Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen desktop processors. The issue has attracted more attention as time goes on. I am posting to share what we’ve experienced at @PugetSystems and what we’re doing about it! pugetsystems.com/blog/2024/08/0…

With the recent overhaul of our Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve benchmark, we thought it was a good time to do an extensive analysis of various consumer GPUs, including NVIDIA GeForce, AMD Radeon, and Intel Arc. pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/…

Excited to announce the latest update to #PugetBench for Creators, featuring the 1.0.0 version of our DaVinci Resolve benchmark! Download it and give it a shot! The benchmark works with both the Free and Studio versions of DaVinci Resolve: pugetsystems.com/pugetbench/cre…

Confused about whether you should upgrade to an @AMD 800-series chipset for the upcoming Ryzen 9000 processors? We break down the X870(E) chipsets compared to the current X670(E) and B650(E): pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/…

Great to see our PugetBench Photoshop and Premiere Pro benchmarks used in the @AMD announcement of their upcoming Zen5 processor launch! Can't wait to get our hands on these CPUs and put them through their paces!

In Premiere Pro 24.4, @Adobe added hardware decoding support for MXF-wrapped H.264 and HEVC codecs. We gave it a test, and it worked great! We updated the note about MXF media on our Premiere Pro Hardware Decoding Support tables to reflect this update! pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/…

Do you have experience in the Media & Entertainment industry, but wish you could dive deeper into the technology side instead of dealing with constant client revisions? Good news! @PugetSystems is hiring an Industry Analyst for M&E! lnkd.in/gXdEV9HS

With our new @PugetSystems Laptop, one of the questions we get the most is "How does it compare to Apple's MacBook Pro?". And boy, is it complicated. Even within a single application, there can be 50% to 4x performance swings based on the workload. pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/…

While working on a performance comparison between our new @PugetSystems laptop and an M3 Max MacBook Pro, it has been interesting to see the "Apple Tax" for RAM and storage so clearly. It is crazy to see Apple charging 2-8x (!) more for a storage upgrade, and 4x more for RAM.

Last month, Puget Systems announced that we will be offering mobile workstations as a part of our product lineup. Today, we published our first hardware article looking at how the 17" laptop compares to a more traditional desktop workstation. Full Article: pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/…

Just wrapped up a live stream with the Puget Systems Labs crew talking about the recently released NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-Series SUPER cards. They might be a mid-generation update, but still some interesting findings in our testing! Watch the VOD: youtube.com/watch?v=-Oo6z3…

We are working on updating our #PugetBench for After Effects benchmark, and are actively looking for real-world examples that are: 1) Difficult to process 2) Not using plugins 3) Have permission to distribute all files If you have one that would be a good fit, let me know!

With 2023 at a close, we wanted to take a look at our workstation sales to see how things evolved over 2023. Really interesting market share data for @intel vs @AMD CPUs, @nvidia GeForce vs RTX, and SSD vs NVMe for storage. Check out the full article: pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/…
