Coming shortly. My new book: Entrepreneurship and Evolutionary Economics.
That you think differently about something than everybody else does not make you wrong. Truth is not a democracy. But you also have no right to dismiss or ridicule them. It's incumbent upon you to learn the standard view and communicate clearly why you're right and they are not.
That people ridicule the fact that economic laws are a priori and immutable makes clear that (1) they are ignorant of the history of economics (as well as the philosophy of science), and (2) economists have failed to educate the public in the theory and practice of their science.
The institute sent me eight copies of this by mistake. Do any locals want to study Rothbard?
I’ve spent the first day of class at @EastCarolina distributing copies of #HumanAction for the new book club! Thanks to @mises for the support!
I’m cleaning my lab’s windows…FOR SCIENCE! Seriously, though, one of my thesis students has an upcoming study in which we will instruct participants to look out the window and describe what they see. I can’t have them looking through a dirty window!
Pro-tip: Become a Christian academic and keep the Sabbath holy. 🙏
Studying #HumanAction is a terrific way to boost one’s vocabulary! Have you ever used the word “autarkic” before?
A brain/soul dump that's in the early stages: "Praxeology vs. Metaphysical Naturalism: A Social Scientist's Return to Jesus Through Mises"
My talk today at #MisesU: The Unseen Cost of Regulation. Watch it here: youtube.com/watch?v=spCTgU…
Thanks to the @Mises Institute for providing copies of #HumanAction so that I can host a book club at @EastCarolina! Pirates: Please let me know if you’re interested in participating. ✌️❤️📖#psychology #economics #philosophy #praxeology #intentionality #choice #freewill
Who else is enjoying Virtual #MisesU this week?
#MisesU, the best week of the year begins TONIGHT! Tune in from home for our opening talk, "Axis of Evil: America’s Three Worst Presidents", by Mises Institute President Thomas DiLorenzo beginning at 7pm CT. youtube.com/live/x6WzzZwea…
WATCH LIVE! The Monday morning session of #MisesU begins at 9:00 a.m. CDT and features Joseph Salerno, Jeffrey Herbener, and David Gordon. youtube.com/live/hb6bNhOZB…
On principle, I use the word “folks” in an effort to be intentionally inclusive. Also on principle, I refuse to spell it “folx”.
Here’s how my shelves are looking nowadays. Less focus on old games and movies, more on religion, psychology, and Austrian economics. ✌️❤️✝️
Just over a week to go until the best week of the year--the Mises University 2024. I'll be giving two of the many lectures. If you're not one of the select few who were admitted, register for the Virtual Mises U to follow online. Check out the schedule at mises.org/events/mises-u…
If someone asked you to tell them something (anything) about #praxeology, would you have anything intelligent to say on the subject?
I'm excited about helping with dorm move-in this year! Join me on Wednesday morning (August 14th) with other folks from the psychology department! @EastCarolina ECU Move-In 2024 @givepulse givepul.se/gtlfxc
