Thank you for the shoutout @SymoneDSanders We are extremely proud that LDF and our incredible clients and co-counsel were able to create a congressional district in which Black voters were able to elect a candidate of their choice in this election. Power is built brick by brick.

My thoughts on what we know thus far about the 2024 electoral landscape: There are many things happening at once

Baton Rouge! Come speak out about your vision for the new #jail. We have seen jails built with no exposure to fresh air, no exercise, no books, no law library, no infirmary, no visiting room. Don't let them build a warehouse! This Tuesday, at 5:30pm, River Center.

Since 1961, all sectors of our society, including education, have used affirmative action to level the playing field. Let’s be clear: Even with the constraints of the Supreme Court’s ruling, colleges and universities are still able to consider students’ experiences with race.

These stores are understaffed, inadequate store infrastructure for safety, not enough training, and rarely have community safety managers. The broken Dollar Store business model is abandoning NO East after flooding us with stores that discouraged new local grocery stores post-K.

Organizers protested Dollar General pulling out of NO East Tuesday. But they focused their ire on the company. What about their elected local leaders? How many shoplifters did the DA prosecute? What is their councilman & criminal justice committee chair doing about rampant theft?
