How writing changes the writer... In this case, the same considerations determine interactions on social media for me and for many of you, I imagine. It's important to choose words carefully, and the use of grammar is vital: a comma can change the whole meaning of a sentence.

Looks fabulous @susan_pym

The Scottish launch of the inaugural St Andrew's Book Festival was held at Prestonfield House in #Edinburgh last night. Sir Ian Rankin is one of a host of Scottish literary greats taking part in the event in London from 25 November-1 December. With @susan_pym @beathhigh

Why is there no presenter on Radio 4's six o'clock news?

Beautiful, naughty, chatty, silly, Gerry. Felled by a second saddle thrombus... So lucky to have been able to rehome him, even if only for two years❤️

Only just got sight of this. It's cracking😎. facebook.com/reel/794675939…

Didn't love the play but Anjli Mohindra and Harmony Rose-Bremner (both acting and singing voice) are extraordinary, with a fabulous trio of veteran gold alongside: Deborah Findlay, Gina McKee, and Romola Garai.

It’s causing waves in the theatre already (for men!) but this is a dazzling production of Annie Ernaux’s memoir where 5 women (aged 20 to 70) assemble a kaleidoscope of events in one woman’s life, from sex & consent to radical politics @AlmeidaTheatre theguardian.com/stage/article/…

What an ending. Hours of disjointed oddness and then the balloon, and then this… not a dry eye in the house🥸

todos de acordo que a performance da Céline Dion foi o melhor momento da abertura?

Does my 24 year NHS career really just fizzle out with a text message from a stranger 15 minutes before the end of a shift?

Fabulous interview with @TheZeinabBadawi @SOAS this evening and glad to have grabbed one of the final copies on sale. Loving the abridged reading @BBCRadio4 each morning🌻

Is it just our household being kept either awake or asleep by crazily vivid dreams this past week, or is there something in the air?

Loving the excitement, soundscape, and design of Yael Faber’s #Lear @AlmaTheatre . Danny Sapani the hottest of Lears. Great cast.

Insufficient words to say how much the posse enjoyed the staging of Sam Selvon’s classic novel, The Lonely Londoners @JSTheatre . Beautifully written, acted, directed, and choreographed, it deserves a transfer to a bigger space🥳🥳

New writing from Romesh Gunesekara, Rahila Gupta, Farrukh Dhondy and six other first generation British South Asian creatives including artists Bhajan Hunan and Juginder Lamba, and me!! Have a read, it's good: sadaa.co.uk/anthems-of-arr… Hard launch later this year @BM_AG

❤️💐Happy Birthing Parent Day to all whose large gametes were fertilised resulting in small humans whose sex was assigned by doctors making mostly lucky guesses ❤️💐

Ashamed that instead of joining in this serendipitous moment, I’ve ordered hot chocolate to sit and watch…

A must-read for anyone interested in how doctors manage end of life care, and the questions that aren’t, but should be, asked. Feeds into Esther Rantzen’s latest comments @BBCr4today It’s clear, intelligent, and unexpectedly life affirming/changing.

Loved #Hir @ParkTheatre last night - a scream of middle-aged female rage. And lots else besides: there's a change of life issue there for every gender. A privilege to see Felicity Huffman up close. We laugh as we cower. A great cast and a really humdinging set.
