Some papers remain just as awe-inspiring even a decade later. This is one of them—unraveling the mechanism of how GAPDH 'grabs' H2O2 to self-inactivate, for reprogramming metabolism i nature.com/articles/nchem…

For a release like this one, you work for months, with all the pieces gradually coming together, and eventually, you find yourself holding a vinyl in your hands in disbelief. I’m happy to finally lift the curtain and share this LIVE album with you: martinkohlstedt.com/live

All languages covey information at a similar rate when spoken (39bits/s). Languages that are spoken faster have less information density per syllable! One of the coolest results in linguistics.

Awesome work! Congratulations! This reminds me astrocyte-neuron lactate shuttle (ANLS) system as well. We definitely can not call lactate a waste product and reversibility of LDH is so important.

I am excited to share our new preprint on lactate metabolism! This has been a tremendous effort by my lab, @StavrosDrakos and @RutterLab to integrate biochemical and physiological data to understand the mechanism of lactate metabolism in the heart. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…. .

In Program 2, "Self Sustainable Microbial Systems", we will develop circular microbial processes for production of goods of daily use like materials, food and feed. Circularity of the main elements, C and N, is a main quest for the benefit of spaceship Earth.

This is huge! We just got the Cluster of Excellence "Circular Bioengineering" awarded by @FWF_at ! Proud to lead Programme 2 on "Self Sustaining Microbial Systems" together with Gunda Köllensperger of @univienna @BOKUvienna @BOKU_IMMB

This is really a stunning paper. Cyanobacteria exposed to shorter days (in the lab) "rewire" their membrane lipids to anticipate cold weather. When those cells are plunged into cold water, they have "two or three-times higher survival" than cells exposed to longer days.
