I shudder at the thought of that. Archibald Lake is so special.
I drove through the 15 mile stream proposed gold mine area today. Big machinery in there now. It would be a disaster if this were to happen in Archibald Lake area given it’s uniqueness. #archibaldlake
Super excited about this animation of the migratory movement of 24 Snowy Owls from our published paper in @IBIS_journal🦉 @ArcticEcology onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.111…

Beavers are busiest in early morning and evenings/night. This guy getting some nourishment after a likely busy night of work.
The Red-winged Blackbird is now on territory at ponds and marshes across PC. This guy is seen singing and displaying his red shoulder coverts in hopes of attracting a lady.
PC is blessed to have these awesome Yellow-bellied sapsuckers breeding here. Listen for their slow tapping as they try to attract a mate and set up territory.
Wood frog peaking his head above a road side pond. Listen for their “duck-like” singing.
In the early spring you’ll often find the partial remains of creatures who didn’t make it through the winter. Here is the partial remains of a young raccoon.
Signs of bear. Notice the claw marks on the bark of these Poplar trees. Black bears are expert climbers.
Look for these gorgeous duck now frequenting small ponds and marshes through PC. #HoodedMerganser
Most people are familiar with the beaver lodge but beavers also construct their homes in banks. #bankbeaver Seen here in the west side of PC
Some caterpillars are early spring delights to see
The ever present but very beautiful White-tail Deer seen here along the TransCanada Trail in PC
