I shot the Cave Nebula (SH2-155) in narrowband over three evenings last week. Hubble palette with RGB stars. Shot with my Esprit 100 refractor and ASI2600MM pro camera. Imaging details on Astrobin: astrobin.com/wbcqjf/ #Astrophotography

First light tonight for the new 6" RC. So far it's been an adventure. Shooting the Silver Sliver Galaxy (NGC 891). Wish me luck. #Astrophotography

The Lion Nebula (SH2-132) in the Hubble Palette. 16 hours total in narrowband (Ha, SII, OIII) with RGB thrown in for stars. Shot with an ASI2600MM Pro camera through my SW Esprit 100ED refractor on a GEM45 mount. More on Astrobin: astrobin.com/z7ba4q/ #astrophotography

Shooting the Cave Nebula (SH2-155) tonight. The pic is a single sub in H-alpha. Getting sub-0.5" guiding and perfect hyperbolas in autofocus. Everything just works. Must be time for a new telescope. 😆 #Astrophotography

Getting ready for another night on the Lion Nebula. My Sky-Watcher Esprit 100 is a real workhorse. It sits on an iOptron GEM45 mount. NINA controls the mount, ZWO ASI2600MM Pro camera, ZWO filter wheel, and Pegasus focus motor. Everything just works. #Astrophotography

Love this time of the year. The nights are longer, the weather's great. Waning moon with clear skies means I'm shooting for the next few nights. SH2-132, the Lion Nebula. Single sub in H-alpha. Shooting with the Esprit 100 and ASI2600MM Pro in SHO. #Astrophotography

New scope on the way from High Point Scientific--6" f/9 RC scope for shooting smaller stuff. f/9 give about 1350 mm FL, and the matching 0.67x reducer will give f/6, about 900 mm FL. Reviews and forum posts were generally pretty good. Excited to try it out. #astrophotography

Mrs. PhotonPhanatic suggested I get a few new images printed. These are on glossy aluminum, printed by @ArtbeatStudios_ . Her favorite's on the right, mine's on the left. #Astrophotography

If your team is 3-0 and in first place give me an RT and a #skol

I realized I don’t follow nearly enough #Vikings fans on here as I should. RT this and comment so we can all connect and talk about our favorite team! I’ll follow everyone back! #Skol

I know the season is still young, but talk about prophetic.

If Kirk Cousins hits free agency, I'd be interested in the Vikings adding Sam Darnold as a bridge QB. He was Shanahan's priority FA last year and sets a good bar for a rookie QB to clear.

Recycling the data from another image taken over last winter with a SW Evolux 82ED. This refractor suffered from chromatic aberration, yielding blue halos on bright stars. Since I shot this I've learned more about how to process it. Here's the result. #Astrophotography

Another redo--shot this last winter with a budget refractor (a SW Evolux 82ED) but reprocessed it now with a few newly-learned techniques. The Soul Nebula (IC 1848). In some ways, this looks a little creepy... #Astrophotography

Another redo--I went back to an image of M101 I took 2 years ago to add H-alpha data I collected at the time but never used. As I learn new stuff (and I'm *always* learning new stuff) I often go back and apply it to older images. This is a redo from scratch. #Astrophotography

A different presentation of the Veil Nebula data I capture a couple weeks ago. This is in the Hubble palette (very much false color, like a lot of the Hubble images). Sometimes I can't resist revisiting images I've already "finished." #Astrophotography
