Congrats to Ethan and the entire team! So much time and hard work--your success is well-deserved.

The Christmas championships at the Schimpf house this year should be epic!

With the help of my friends Gina, Mary, Michael, and Shelby (all Waterloo Park District Commissioners), I was able to find the 2023 Jingle Hike Tree this morning in Konarcik Park. Very cool that Heartlands Conservancy picked one of our sites as a bell/ribbon location!

Tomorrow afternoon. 17 pts will probably be enough to win. Go Navy! Beat Army!

Even though he didn't "win," I'm very proud of Ethan and his teammates for persevering through adversity and nearly qualifying for state.

There was a spirit w/ the boys this season that the seniors get credit for. Big hat tip to Dylan, Justin & Ethan whose season wrapped up. It wasn’t lack of heart/effort that kept them from State. Thank you boys for giving all you had & congrats on a CC career to be so proud of.

The boys team passed some teams ranked ahead of them to finish 9th today in an always tough field. They have so much to be proud of! Corey and Kern go 16-17 and are headed to State as individuals. Congrats boys!

Congrats to my friends at the Waterloo Park District and the City of Waterloo for breaking ground on the Zimmer Park Splashpad today! This project has been in the works since 2019 and is the result of hard work by many.

PR on the Alhambra Fireman's Park cross country course, but too much left in the tank? Waterloo boys take 2nd out of 13 teams.

Great day yesterday for Waterloo High School Cross Country at the Belleville West Invitational!

"Work hard, tell the truth, and keep your promises. Do those things and you'll have a great year." First day of school 2023/2024. Ethan is a senior; Garrett is a sophomore.

Great to see Ethan run well and injury-free at the state track meet today. Maybe the short(er) hair makes a difference after all!

First up today was the boys 4x800 relay team of Corey, Stratton, Kern, & Schimpf. While the ticket to tomorrow’s finals eluded them, the boys had a heck of a race to finish 15 in a tough 29 team field. Nice work fellas!!

I hope your Saturday is off to a great start. Let's celebrate Judge McGlynn's ruling from yesterday with a 2nd Amendment meme. Enjoy the weekend!

As previously noted, JB Pritzker's legal arguments were laughably weak. I agree with Judge McGlynn's decision. Congrats to all 2nd Amdmt supporters on the big win in federal court this afternoon!

Local elected officials are accessible to voters, accountable to voters, and have more expertise about local issues. In a perfect world, state government would be prohibited from addressing any problem that local governments are capable of solving.

Thank you to all the Monroe County folks who came out last night in Columbia to support Good Samaritan Ministries and let us say hello!

Hope your weekend is off to a great start. Ethan's track workout is in the books, now it's time for tennis with Garrett, then some overdue yard work. Here's my favorite cartoon from the week. If you want to see where progressive policies will take us, look at our major cities.

As the GOP Presidential field grows, here's my 2 cents: tell me how you are going to win against the Democrats & unify our country. You won't get my vote by attacking fellow Republicans.

Hope everyone has a good weekend! I saw some great memes this week, but this was my favorite. Until a government demonstrates that it will act responsibly, it is not deserving of any additional power or authority.
