Let the reader understand…

It has recently come to our attention that Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego have put forward the argument that any Israelite who bows down to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden statue has departed the faith and become apostate. 1/15

If the pastor sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of this sermon series.

Worship is supposed to cost us something. We don’t often think of worship in this way; we usually focus on what we will get out of it rather than what it will cost us, but that is wrong.

(1/6) One more post on Luther’s critique of Erasmus’ speculative theology, before turning to his critique of Erasmus’ interpretive method. Luther believed that Erasmus dangerously blurred the line between the knowledge of God and the knowledge of God revealed in Scripture.

Rejoicing in the reversal of Roe. Still grieving over the culture of death it spawned. Even more committed to proclaiming the gospel of Christ - the One who gives eternal life and brings light to the darkness. "In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men." John 1:4

The ultimate need for a nation that lives lawlessly is not more laws. The need of that nation is an outpouring of a penitent faith in Christ by the gracious God who alone grants repentance. The lost won’t seek this. God’s people must ask for such mercy upon their land. Pray.

for it is one of his choice jewels.' Bunyan quoted Isaiah 33:6 ' The fear of the LORD is his treasure.'" "...This grace of fear makes a person excellent, beautiful and honorable in God's sight - more so than any other quality /2

The "grace of fear" from John Bunyan and the Fear of God (pg. 70-71) "Bunyan also taught that there is a 'godly fear' that continues in a believer's life all his days for it is "the grace of fear." It is unspeakably precious 'called God's treasure 1/

The fear of the Lord is "the salt that seasons every duty...For there is no duty performed by us, that can by any means be accepted of God, if it be not seasoned with godly fear" from "John Bunyan and the Grace of Fearing God" pg 26 quoting "A Treatise of the Fear of God "by JB

Thankful for God's sustaining grace to @BCBChurch as we begin our 20th year of gospel light in the community of Brownsburg and beyond. Christ will indeed build His church (Matt. 16:18)!

Implicit in the announcement of judgment—from Nineveh, to Abimelech, to today—is always the opportunity to repent, to turn, and to be forgiven.

As a nation, from top to bottom, we have become experts at justifying our sin (Prov. 21:2). As the church may we earnestly repent of this same mindset lest our judgment prove to be more severe (1 Peter 4:17).

Good news: City of Los Angeles has decided to drop all charges against Grace Community Church &agreed to pay all legal fees incurred due to the lawsuit LA brought against GCC last summer. This is a monumental victory for GCC. The church is not a building, it's the Bride of Christ
