New Manuscript Critique Service page is live! This will be my new pinned tweet. Thanks for any shares, and get in touch if you'd like to discuss a critique! ☕ toryhunterbooks.com/manuscript-cri…

How is the Twitter hashtag writing community these days? Did I miss anything?

Writers: "The email I just got. 👀 I'm shaking. I'm crying. I vomited in my microwave and set my neighbor's house on fire. I managed to put it out with explosive diarrhea but the cops showed up anyway and I just got tazed. I think I'm vague!" No, you're not vague, but congrats!

For full manuscript critiques and dev. edits, I'm fully booked for the rest of the year. Limited space for query packages.

An agent does a shitty thing. It stems from a deeper and more insidious root cause. The writing community douses itself in a golden shower of optimism. The problem deepens, thickens, and spreads. The lifeblood of publishing, the author, is choked out a little more. An agent does-

Query tip: if you have a MS hyper specific to the agent’s MSWL, it will almost always be rejected.

If you're like me and want to complain about Al but don't want the algorithm to clog your feed with Al-related things, then do what I'm doing and spell it "Al" as in Albert. Looks the same but X will show you Married With Children memes or something.

🧵 I keep seeing #amquerying writers anguish over having a... not-big number of rejections. Over getting no feedback. Over having queried a whole week with no full requests. I'm seeing people respond to these poor writers with "self-pub!" and "that's the market right now!" 1/4

Availability update: Other than the 50% off manuscript critique I'm offering for a horror novel (can be booked for September or October), I only have two spots left for the rest of the year.

I have more respect for Flat Earthers than I do for people who are impressed by these AI videos.

Since I'm running out of space for the rest of the year, I'm making my annual horror novel offer early: 50% off a manuscript critique for a horror novel. Query critique included. Can be booked for August, September, or October. DM or contact through my website if interested.

Every "how I became a literary agent" story: After college I went job hunting, got distracted by a squirrel, and before long was sitting in its nest at the top of an oak tree. Wadded up in the sticks was a faded agency internship application. I didn't even know that job existed.
