After Baron's passing the palace was left unattended until, August 2017 when the Egyptian government started the renovations. The renovations were complete by early 2020.
Edouard Baron was the one that developed the city of Heliopolis in 1905. He meant for it to be a place of luxury and leisure.
Alexandre Marcel who was the architect of this palace was true mastermind. No wonder it took them 7 years to build this palace.
This was one of the railway projects built by Edouard. He wanted to connect the city of Heliopolis with Central Cairo. The train was later moved to his palace
