To anyone who might be scared to use #Gaeilge, #Cymraeg, #Gàidhlig, #Gaelg, #Kernewek, or #Brezhoneg, for fear of making mistakes, please don’t be. Anyone who tries to speak is part of the revival, and we need everyone. So whether you’re fluent or barely have any at all, use it!
Gaelcholáiste Reachrann ag fanacht 24 bliain ar scoil nua. ⌛ Níl sé seo maith go leor @NormaFoleyTD1 Ní mór gníomhú anois ✊
Mar a dúirt iarAire na Gaeltachta, Éamon Ó Cuív, “Dá mbeinn ag brath ar vótaí Gaeilgeoirí, ní fheicfinn Dáil Éireann go brách.” Ar uair éigin, caithfimid ár gcuid feirge agus frustrachais a chur in iúl do na polaiteoirí ag an mbosca ballóidí. 🤷 #GaelVóta tuairisc.ie/nil-se-uaillmh…
An bhfuil an Ghaeilge tábhachtach go leor dúinn go vótálfaimid chun a leasa? Sin an cheist a chaithfimid a fhreagairt mar phobal ar lá an toghcháin. #GaelVóta
Ceapaim go dtaispeánann sé seo nach smaoinítear ar an nGaeilge mar cheist pholaitiúil. Dá smaoineofaí, chaithfeadh go mbeadh Fine Gael níos ísle. Ábhar frustrachais atá ann.

Póstaeir i mBéarla amháin sa Ghaeltacht, droch-Ghaeilge ar na bileoga agus “Gaeilgeoirí” litrithe micheart i bhforógra Fhianna Fáil. Meas ar bith. English-only posters in the Gaeltacht, bad Irish on the leaflets and “Gaeilgeoirí” spelt incorrectly in FF’s manifesto. No respect.
I’m sorry, this is precious. They’ve built so few homes over 14 years in Government, they’ve had to resort to photos of foreign building sites and AI-generated images of homes for their housing policy? Change Now. Minister Eoin Ó Broin please. Vótáil Sinn Féin to get FFFG out!
"Tá easpa spriocanna intomhaiste don Ghaeilge agus don Ghaeltacht i bhforógra @fiannafailparty ❌ Tá sé mar aidhm acu 60,000 teach a thógáil in aghaidh na bliana faoi 2030 ach níl sprioc shonrach amháin leagtha síos acu chun líon na ndaltaí sa ghaelscolaíocht a mhéadú. "📉
De bharr feachtasaíocht leanúnach, dheimhnigh @tcddublin go bhfostófar duine sa bhreis in @GaeloifigTCD, bua mór do sheirbhísí Gaeilge sa Choláiste agus níos mó le teacht. Tá an móiminteam ag pobal Gaeilge Choláiste na Tríonóide faoi láthair agus níl anseo ach an tús!! 💪
Rinneadh damáiste ollmhór i 1974 nuair a tháinig deireadh le riachtanais Ghaeilge na státseirbhíse. 📉 Anois, leis na leasuithe ar #AchtTeanga, tá deis an damáiste sin a chur ina cheart le 20% d’earcaithe sa tseirbhís phoiblí inniúil sa Ghaeilge faoi dheireadh 2030. ⚒️
Pádraig Mac Brádaigh, Oifigeach Gaeilge in Aontas na Mac Léinn i gColáiste na Tríonóide, ag caint linn faoin easpa Gaeilge san ollscoil. @PadraigMacB @tcdsu_amlct soundcloud.com/rnl/ceist-an-n…
✍️'Tá aiféala ar bheirt as gach triúr (66%) nach bhfuil Gaeilge labhartha níos fearr acu, de réir pobalbhreithe nua' 📚'Dúirt 74% de na daoine a thug freagra gur mian leo Gaeilge labhartha níos fearr a bheith acu' Níl sé ró-dhéanach riamh le tosú,bígí linn @CnaG 💚
"Following the Welsh example, a potential aim would be to increase the % of students attending Irish-medium primary schools outside the Gaeltacht from the current 6.7 % to 10 per cent by 2030, to 17 % by 2040 and to 25 % by 2050." @oduibhirp @IrishTimes irishtimes.com/ireland/educat…
👏Tá ard-mholadh ag dul do @sinnfeinireland do 'Polasaí don Ghaeilge san Oideachas ag Gach Leibhéal' a sheoladh. D’fhéadfadh an polasaí uaillmhianach seo a bheith claochlaitheach don oideachas Gaeilge ar fud na hÉireann. Tá áthas ar @CnaG na moltaí seo a leanas a fheiceáil:👇
Sinn Féin has today launched its 32 County policy for Irish in Education at all levels, which the party’s spokesperson on Gaeilge @aosnodaigh has described as a ‘moonshot’ for how Irish is taught and for realising a right to immersive education vote.sinnfein.ie/misean-gealai-…
Fós ann 3 lá ar aghaidh agus póstaeir nua curtha leis!
Tá sé in am éirí as an mbéalghrá agus beart a dhéanamh de réir briathair. It’s time to stop the empty words and do as as we say. It’s time to *actually* give the Irish language a fair shot as a *normal* everyday language. We want action now @tcddublin
Students at Trinity College Dublin have criticised what they say is the university's "inaction" in upholding Irish language rights rte.ie/news/2024/1101…
The Irish language matters. For every untranslated sign, English-only service, and act of pigeonholing, the language is suppressed and minoritized. The language isn’t dying, it is a policy choice to suppress it. Having no Irish isn’t neutral - it is forced English.
