This past week the Mimili NETT team at Mimili Anangu School held a morning breakfast BBQ for all the kids. The team have also been helping the school, getting kids to school and working with students with their school work.

AJFL Round 5 was a blast in Fregon on Friday. Thank you to Indulkana, Mimili & Fregon Anangu School for coming along. Also a big shout out THANK YOU to the Fregon RASAC fellas for helping cook up a delicious BBQ for everyone and for keeping Fregon Oval nice and clean for us.

Meet Ben 👋 Ben is our Training and Development Officer & works with all of our team across the APY Lands, providing support to all NETT staff. The continuous education & upskilling of the NETT team ensures we can provide the best support to our schools, students & communities.

Meet Louise 👋 Louise might be PYEC’s newest Bilingual Education Resources Manager, but she’s got a rich history in the APY Lands having first been a student teacher in Amata in 1979 and Yalata in 1980. She then began teaching in the Junior Primary class at Amata in 1981.

School Profile - Ernabella (Pukatja) Anangu School Ernabella is a Birth-12 School. Over 90% of students at Ernabella are Anangu and their first language is Pitjantjatjara or Yankunytjatara as this is usually the language spoken at home. Learn more at ernabella.sa.edu.au

Learning, practicing, teaching and documenting our culture is part of Anangu Ara - a project to keep our identity strong. Ina Scales facilitated a group discussion to introduce the Anangu Ara project to our team.

Three times a year PYEC comes together to build our team's sense of pride in working for an Anangu organisation. Around the campfire in the evening we learnt open tjukurpa (story) from Josephine Mick and practiced inma (song and dance) together.
